ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand the long-term effects of a surgical method called internal fixation on patients with a specific type of knee fracture known as posterior column fractures of the tibial plateau. The main goal is to find out if this treatment leads to good results over one year, based on follow-up X-rays and surveys about any joint pain and how well participants can move their knee.
To participate, individuals need to be between 18 and 60 years old and have had a tibial plateau fracture that involves the back part of the bone, confirmed by X-ray or CT scan, and occurred within the last three weeks. Unfortunately, those with certain types of more severe fractures or fractures due to diseases will not be eligible. Participants will be monitored for a year after their surgery, giving them a chance to share their experiences and outcomes related to their recovery. This study aims to help improve treatment options for similar injuries in the future.
