ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how effective certain tests are in finding cancer early in firefighters. The study will use whole-body Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), whole-body ultrasound, and a special cancer blood test to see if they can detect multiple types of cancer in firefighters who are otherwise healthy. It’s important to note that while MRI and ultrasound are approved for diagnosing some cancers, their use in this study for healthy adults is considered experimental.
To participate, firefighters must be at least 35 years old and have worked as a firefighter for at least 10 years. They also need to have completed a specific medical exam recently if they are still active in their job. Participants should not have had any invasive cancer in the past five years, and women who can become pregnant cannot be part of the study if they are currently pregnant. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo the MRI, ultrasound, and blood tests, and the researchers will follow up with you about any findings. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and your involvement could help improve cancer screening for firefighters in the future.
