ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help medical students learn how to insert a peripheral venous catheter, which is a common procedure used to place a small tube into a vein for various medical needs. The study will look at whether using a technique called mental imagery, where students visualize the procedure in their minds, can improve their success in performing this task on a training mannequin. This method has shown promise in helping students learn other medical skills, and researchers want to see if it can be beneficial for this specific procedure as well.
To participate in this study, you need to be a 5th-year medical student at the Nîmes medical school who is taking part in a training workshop for peripheral venous catheter insertion. There are no other specific requirements to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to take part in a session where you will practice mental imagery before trying the procedure on a simulation mannequin. This trial aims to find better ways to teach important medical skills and help students become more confident and capable in their future medical careers.
