ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a special cooling spray, called Pain Ease vapocoolant spray, can help reduce the pain that some women feel when getting a Nexplanon implant inserted. The Nexplanon implant is a small rod placed under the skin of the arm to prevent pregnancy. The trial will look specifically at how this cooling spray affects the pain caused by the lidocaine injection, which is often used to numb the area before the implant is inserted.
To participate in this study, you need to be a female who is at least 14 years old and is scheduled to have a Nexplanon implant placed at specific locations. You should also be able to speak English and be willing to sign a consent form that explains the study. However, if you need strong pain medications or have had a bad reaction to vapocoolant spray in the past, you won’t be able to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive the cooling spray before the procedure, and the researchers will monitor your experience to see if it helps make the process less painful.
