ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to assess tissue health in women who experience stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and those who do not have this condition. The researchers will use a technique called strain elastography (SE), which looks at how stretchy or stiff the tissue around the urethra is, to see if there are differences between the two groups. By comparing the elasticity of tissues in different areas near the urethra, the goal is to find a better diagnostic tool to help understand and potentially treat SUI, which can be caused by weakened support for the bladder.
To participate in the study, women aged 36 to 74 who have been diagnosed with stress urinary incontinence are eligible. Participants will undergo a simple ultrasound and the SE procedure to assess their tissue properties. The trial aims to gather information that may help in developing personalized treatment strategies for women with SUI in the future, ensuring that findings are reliable and applicable to routine care. Importantly, individuals with certain conditions, such as pelvic cancers, recent childbirth, or other urinary issues, will not be included to ensure the safety and accuracy of the study.
