ClinConnect Summary
The Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health and Wellness is conducting a study aimed at preventing dementia in people aged 50 and older who do not have a dementia diagnosis. The trial will involve 450 participants who will receive a thorough assessment of their risk factors for dementia. This includes factors they cannot change (like age and family history) and those they can change (like diet and exercise). Based on this assessment, each participant will get a Personalized Dementia Risk Report that highlights their specific risk areas and suggests programs to help lower those risks.
If you are 50 or older and can speak English well enough to complete some assessments, you may be eligible to join the study. Participants can expect to engage in various programs that focus on improving their health and reducing dementia risk. Every six months, participants will be re-evaluated to see how their risk factors and cognitive abilities are changing. This ongoing support aims to keep everyone informed and help them make the best choices for their brain health.
