Knee Dislocation Multi Ligament Knee Injury Losartan

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether a medication called Losartan can help people recover better after a serious knee injury known as a multi-ligament knee injury (MLKI). These injuries can happen during activities like sports or military training and often require surgery to repair the damaged ligaments. Unfortunately, many patients face complications after surgery, such as limited movement in their knee, which can affect their ability to return to work or sports. The trial aims to see if taking Losartan for 30 days after surgery can improve knee movement, strength, and reduce inflammation, helping participants get back to their daily activities more effectively.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must have a complete tear of two or more knee ligaments and have had at least one of these ligaments surgically repaired. They should also be willing to follow the study's guidelines. However, individuals who are non-English speakers, pregnant, or have certain health conditions that could increase risks with Losartan won’t be able to participate. This study is still in its planning stages and has not started recruiting participants yet, but it offers a potential new approach to improving recovery after a challenging knee injury.
