ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Experiment 2: One Target in Many Situations," is studying how people search for visual items under different conditions. The researchers want to see if people's search behavior changes when they do the same type of search multiple times in a row compared to when different types of searches are mixed together. Participants will be asked to find a specific target in four different tasks, where the target stays the same but the distractions around it change.
To participate, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and pass a color vision test. However, if you have vision worse than 20/25, even with glasses, or a history of certain visual or muscle disorders, you won't be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to perform a series of visual search tasks, with some sessions having all the same task and others mixing up the tasks. This research could help us understand how our attention and vision work, so it could be important for improving treatments or strategies in the future.
