ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on adapting a web-based app called myPlan Thailand to help friends and family members of individuals who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) in Thailand. The goal is to empower these support networks, as they often play a crucial role in helping survivors. The app, originally developed in the United States, provides evidence-based support and resources. The trial will take place over four years and includes two main phases: the first phase will tailor the app's content to fit the cultural context of Thailand, while the second phase will test how well the adapted app works and if it is accepted by users.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, speak and read Thai, and have access to a safe smartphone or computer with internet. They should have a female friend who has experienced IPV in the last six months. Participants can expect to be involved in discussions that will help shape the app's content and then use the app to learn how to better support their friends. This trial is important because it seeks to provide effective tools for those who are often the first line of support for survivors of intimate partner violence.
