ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how hand grip strength and trunk control relate to daily activities and overall physical performance in young people with mild intellectual disability (MID). The researchers want to understand how these physical abilities affect the independence and quality of life of individuals aged 12 to 18. Hand grip strength is a key sign of muscle strength, while trunk control helps with balance and movement. By examining these factors, the study aims to highlight how motor skills can impact everyday tasks and social interactions.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between 12 and 18 years old and have a clinical diagnosis of mild intellectual disability. They should also be able to perform simple strength tests. However, individuals with certain physical or mental health issues that could affect their participation or the results of the study will not be included. Those who join can expect to take part in activities that assess their physical abilities in a supportive environment, which could help improve understanding of their needs and challenges.
