ClinConnect Summary
The Early Adolescent Skills for Emotions (EASE) trial is studying how well a program designed to help young people manage their emotions can be implemented in local communities. This program was developed by the World Health Organization and aims to train community staff, known as EASE Helpers, to support adolescents aged 10 to 15 years old. The trial will look at how easy it is to train these helpers, recruit participants, and keep them involved in the program. It will also evaluate the overall effectiveness of the program in helping young people and their families.
To participate, adolescents need to be between 10 and 15 years old and have permission from a parent or guardian. Caregivers of these children can also take part in the study, provided they are English-speaking adults. However, the program is not suitable for adolescents or caregivers who have severe cognitive challenges or are at risk of harming themselves. Participants can expect to be part of a supportive environment where they will learn skills to manage emotions better, and their experiences will help shape how the program is delivered in the future.
