ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Get Back," is looking at a new online rehabilitation program designed to help patients recover after surgery for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS), a condition that narrows the space around the spinal cord, often causing pain and mobility issues. The study will compare the Get Back program to standard rehabilitation to see if it helps patients increase their daily steps, improve their physical activity levels, and enhance their overall ability to function. This is important because many patients remain inactive after surgery, which can harm their health and quality of life. The program focuses on gradually increasing activity, addressing fears about movement, and using techniques to encourage positive behavior changes.
To participate in this study, patients need to be scheduled for decompression surgery due to central lumbar spinal stenosis. However, those with certain health conditions, like cancer or serious heart problems, or those who do not understand Swedish well, will not be eligible. If you join the trial, you’ll be part of a group that will be monitored for how many steps you take daily, and your progress will be tracked using questionnaires and tests. The trial aims to help improve rehabilitation access for everyone and could lead to better health outcomes for patients recovering from LSS surgery.
