ClinConnect Summary

The clinical trial titled "Healing Hearts of Hospitalized Patients" is exploring how virtual reality (VR) can help patients feel better during their hospital stay. Specifically, the study aims to see if using VR can reduce pain, anxiety, stress, and feelings of loneliness for adult patients. Researchers will compare the effects of experiencing VR with the help of a trained facilitator to using it on their own. This study is not yet recruiting participants but is looking for adults aged 18 and older who are experiencing anxiety related to their medical condition.

To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be able to understand and follow instructions, have good use of their hands to operate VR equipment, and be stable in their health condition. They should also be comfortable using VR and speak English. However, some individuals may not be able to participate if they have severe cognitive issues, facial injuries that prevent headset use, or other specific health concerns. If chosen for the study, participants can expect to engage with VR as a way to escape from their hospital environment and potentially improve their overall well-being.
