ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the benefits of a special type of rehabilitation called proprioceptive re-education for patients who have had total knee replacement surgery due to osteoarthritis in their left knee. Proprioception refers to the body's ability to sense its position and movement without relying on sight. The goal of this trial is to see if practicing this type of rehabilitation without visual feedback can help improve balance and movement after surgery, which may lead to better recovery and greater satisfaction with the results.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 60 and 85 years old and have recently undergone knee surgery for osteoarthritis. You should also be able to stand on both feet with your eyes closed for 30 seconds. However, certain conditions like blindness, diabetes with nerve damage, and some other health issues may prevent you from joining. If eligible, participants will engage in rehabilitation sessions focused on improving their balance and movement, helping them regain their independence and reduce the risk of falls. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it is an important step towards finding better rehabilitation methods for knee surgery patients.
