ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is researching two different methods of tonsil surgery—coblation tonsillotomy and traditional tonsillectomy using radiofrequency and cold knife dissection. The goal is to see which method works better for patients with chronic tonsillitis, focusing on factors like how long the surgery takes, how much bleeding occurs during and after the operation, and how much pain patients experience afterward.

To participate, individuals need to be between the ages of 3 and 12 and have certain conditions such as frequent throat infections or enlarged tonsils that are causing problems like difficulty breathing or swallowing. However, those with bleeding disorders, active infections, or other specific health issues won't be included in the study. Participants can expect a thorough assessment of their health, and their experiences will help doctors understand which surgical method may be more effective and safer for children with tonsil problems.
