ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different imaging techniques, like CT scans, MRI, and PET scans, can help doctors better diagnose and understand colonic masses, which are growths in the colon that can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). While colonoscopy, a procedure where a camera is inserted into the colon, is the standard way to investigate these masses, this study aims to see if using multiple imaging methods together can provide clearer and more accurate information. This is important because colorectal cancer is a common and serious disease, and catching it early can save lives.
To participate in this trial, adults over 18 who have been referred for imaging due to a suspected colonic mass can apply, as long as they have a biopsy confirming the mass. However, individuals with certain conditions, like allergies to contrast dyes used in imaging or prior colorectal cancer treatments, may not be eligible. Participants will undergo various imaging tests and may help researchers learn which methods work best for diagnosing colonic masses, ultimately aiming to improve treatment options and outcomes for future patients.
