ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different surgical techniques—called CAF (Coronally Advanced Flap) and TCAF (Tunneled Coronally Advanced Flap)—to treat gum recession in the lower front teeth. Gum recession can lead to tooth sensitivity and affect the appearance of your smile, so this study aims to find out which technique provides better coverage of the exposed tooth roots in both the short and long term. In both methods, a small piece of tissue is taken from the roof of the mouth to help cover the receding gums, making them thicker and more supportive.

To be eligible for this trial, participants should be at least 18 years old, have good oral hygiene, and have at least two areas of gum recession in the lower front teeth. They should also be in good general health and not be smokers or pregnant. Those who join the study will have surgery to treat their gum recession and will be monitored through regular check-ups for up to 10 years, keeping a journal to track their recovery, including medication use and any pain or sensitivity experienced. This research could provide valuable insights into improving gum health and overall oral care.
