ClinConnect Summary
The CHEF-ED study is a new research project designed to help parents and their preschool children learn healthy cooking skills together. This program will be offered online and aims to teach parents about healthy eating and how to involve their kids in preparing meals at home. By participating, families can gain valuable skills that promote healthy eating habits from a young age.
If you’re a parent or caregiver of a preschooler aged 3 to 5 and live in the greater Houston area, you might be eligible to join this study. To participate, you need to have access to the Internet and be able to read, write, and communicate in English or Spanish. However, if you or your child have food allergies, certain medical conditions, or dietary restrictions, you won’t be able to take part. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, families can expect to engage in fun cooking activities and learn effective ways to prepare healthy meals together.
