ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at whether a self-help book can help teenagers aged 10 to 17 with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) who are already taking medication. The main goal is to find out if using this book, along with their medication, can reduce their OCD symptoms more effectively than just medication alone. Researchers will compare how well the combination works versus medication on its own. Participants will read one chapter of the self-help book each week for 12 weeks and complete exercises related to what they read. They will also have checkups at the clinic before and after the 12 weeks.

To participate, teenagers need to be diagnosed with OCD, be stable on their medication for at least six weeks, and have a parent who can support them throughout the study. They should be comfortable reading and writing, and their OCD symptoms should not be too severe. This trial is not yet recruiting, so no one can sign up just yet. However, it aims to find new ways to support young people with OCD, which could be very helpful for families facing this challenge.
