ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a mobile app called SpiroGym can help patients with Parkinson's disease improve their breathing exercises. In earlier research, patients who used SpiroGym while training their breathing muscles showed significant improvements in their ability to cough more effectively after just two weeks of use. The app provides visual feedback, which means it helps users see their progress and encourages them to put in more effort during their training sessions.
To participate in this study, individuals must have a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and be on a stable dose of medication for at least a month. However, people with other neurological disorders, serious cognitive issues, or a history of neck cancer are not eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to engage in breathing exercises using the SpiroGym app and see how well the visual feedback helps you improve your breathing strength. This study aims to find out if this kind of feedback can lead to better results for patients.
