ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called a genicular block to see if it can help reduce pain after total knee replacement surgery, also known as total knee arthroplasty. The researchers want to find out if patients who receive this block experience less pain and use fewer opioid medications compared to those who do not receive the block. In the trial, one group of patients will receive a specific medication called bupivacaine using the genicular block method, while the other group will not receive this treatment. Both groups will still be given morphine to help manage their pain after surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults over 18 years old and scheduled for a single total knee replacement surgery. However, people who are having both knees done at the same time or who have had previous knee surgeries will not be able to participate. This study aims to improve pain relief options for patients undergoing knee replacement surgery, and it is not yet recruiting participants.
