ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of a special waterproof dressing called Ioband® compared to a standard waterproof dressing for patients who have just had total knee replacement surgery (also known as total knee arthroplasty or TKA). The main goals are to see if the Ioband® dressing reduces how often dressings need to be changed, limits how much the dressing peels off, and improves overall satisfaction for patients.
To participate, patients must be between 55 and 80 years old and have undergone a primary total knee replacement. Those with certain skin conditions, allergies to adhesives, or who are taking chronic steroids are not eligible. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either dressing type after their surgery, and they will be asked about their experiences and comfort level with the dressing. This trial aims to provide important information that could improve post-operative care for TKA patients.
