ClinConnect Summary
The SAPLAI trial is exploring a new way to educate high school students in Guadeloupe and La Réunion about contraception through a peer-led program on social media. The main goal is to see if having peers teach their classmates about sexual health can work well and be accepted by students aged 15 to 19. The program will involve focus groups where students share their thoughts on learning from peers, questionnaires to assess their knowledge of sexual health, and the creation of educational content by selected peer influencers. These influencers will undergo training and then share important information about contraception on social media for three months.
To participate in this study, students must be between 15 and 19 years old, live in Guadeloupe or La Réunion, and be enrolled in selected vocational high schools with their principal's approval. They will also need consent from a parent or guardian. Participants can expect to engage in discussions about sexual health, complete surveys before and after the program, and potentially help create content that can reach their peers effectively. This trial aims to make sexual health information more accessible and relatable for young people in these regions.
