ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of nutritional support given through a feeding tube (known as enteral nutrition) can affect the health and recovery of patients with sepsis, a serious infection that can lead to organ failure. The researchers want to understand if certain nutritional contents can help patients improve faster and better while they are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.
To participate in this trial, you need to be diagnosed with sepsis and be able to start receiving this type of nutrition within 24 hours of your treatment beginning in the hospital. Unfortunately, if you have chronic liver disease, chronic kidney failure, active cancer, or if you are receiving nutrition through an IV (called parenteral nutrition), you won't be eligible to join. If you qualify and decide to participate, you will receive specific nutritional support while your health is closely monitored, helping researchers learn more about the best ways to care for patients with sepsis.
