ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how well a test that checks for Helicobacter pylori (a type of bacteria linked to stomach issues) in stool samples can predict the risk of developing gastric cancer, specifically gastric adenocarcinoma. Researchers will compare the results of this stool test to standard imaging tests like CT scans and gastroscopies, which are commonly used to check for signs of cancer in the stomach. The goal is to see if the stool test can be a reliable alternative for spotting potential risks.
To be eligible for this study, you must be at least 40 years old and either male or female. Participants should be scheduled for a gastroscopy (a procedure to look inside the stomach) and must be able to understand and sign the consent form. However, individuals with serious heart, liver, or kidney problems, past history of stomach cancer, pregnant women, or those with unclear pathology results will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to provide a stool sample and undergo standard tests, all aimed at improving how we detect gastric cancer early.
