ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how to improve the care of a specific type of medical device called a peripheral access central venous catheter (PIVC), which is used for patients needing long-term intravenous (IV) treatment. The goal is to find out which care schedule for these devices can reduce complications, such as blood clots or infections, that might happen if the device isn’t managed properly. The study is also focused on making sure patients feel satisfied with the care they receive and reducing the need for them to travel to a medical center for follow-up visits.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be over 18 years old and able to manage their daily activities independently. However, those with significant cognitive or physical limitations, or who cannot agree to participate, will not be included. If you join the study, you can expect to follow a specific care routine for your catheter and help researchers understand how to make this process safer and more comfortable for future patients. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to offer valuable insights into patient care for those using PIVCs.
