ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Mental Health and PreP," is looking to understand how mental health conditions, like major depression and anxiety, affect people who are taking HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). PrEP is a medication that helps prevent HIV infection, and many people in France, especially men who have sex with men, are using it. The trial aims to find out how common mental health issues are among these individuals, as previous studies have shown that many people on PrEP may struggle with depression, anxiety, or substance use. This research is important because it helps healthcare providers better support the mental health of patients taking PrEP.
To join the study, participants need to be adults receiving HIV PrEP at one of the participating centers and have French social security coverage. Those who are new to PrEP or have limited understanding of French to complete the surveys will not be included. Participants can expect to answer questions about their mental health during their regular visits for PrEP treatment. By taking part in this trial, they will help researchers identify and address mental health needs in this community, leading to better overall care and support.
