ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a procedure called Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) is effective for men who have both an underactive bladder (which means their bladder doesn’t empty well) and bladder outlet obstruction (BOO), a condition that makes it hard to urinate. The goal is to find out if this surgical treatment can help improve urinary function in these patients.
To join the study, participants need to be men aged 40 and older who have been diagnosed with both BOO and an underactive bladder. However, some individuals will not be eligible, such as those with diabetes requiring insulin, a history of stroke, previous prostate surgeries, or certain cancers. Those who participate can expect to be closely monitored during the study to assess the effectiveness of the TURP procedure. This trial is important because it aims to find better treatments for men facing these urinary issues, potentially improving their quality of life.
