ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying two types of Twin Block appliances, which are removable devices used to help correct the position of a child's lower jaw. The goal is to compare traditional Twin Block appliances with newer 3D-printed versions. Researchers want to see how much bacteria stick to each type, how rough the surfaces are (which could affect oral health), and how well each appliance improves jaw position and treatment outcomes. They will also gather feedback from participants about how these appliances affect their daily lives and comfort during treatment.

To participate in this study, children aged 10 to 14 who have specific dental conditions, like a certain type of bite problem (called Class II Division 1), may be eligible. Participants will be asked questions about their experiences to help understand how the type of appliance they use impacts their oral health and overall well-being. It’s important to note that some children, like those with certain medical conditions or previous orthodontic treatments, may not be eligible to join the trial.
