ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a multimedia presentation can help patients better understand the anesthesia process before having an elective Caesarean delivery. The goal is to improve the informed consent process, which is when patients learn about the treatment, its risks and benefits, and any alternatives before agreeing to proceed. The researchers believe that by watching a pre-recorded video that explains what anesthesia is and what to expect during the procedure at least 24 hours beforehand, patients will feel more confident and clear about their choices.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old, able to understand and provide consent in English, and scheduled for a Caesarean section. Unfortunately, if you are not comfortable with English or if your medical situation is complex, you may not be able to take part. If you join the trial, you'll watch the video before meeting with your anesthesiologist, which will help ensure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision about your care.
