ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how providing food support can help families with children in the hospital, especially those facing food insecurity. Researchers want to find out if giving families meal cards while they are hospitalized and offering additional food support after they leave can improve their overall well-being and reduce the need for follow-up hospital visits. They will compare families who receive this food support to those who get standard care to see which approach works better.
To participate, families must have a child under 21 years old who is covered by Medicaid or does not have insurance. Families whose children are receiving end-of-life care or will be discharged to places other than home will not be eligible. Those who join the study will receive meal cards during their hospital stay and may also get food support after discharge, along with a follow-up survey 14 days later to share their experiences. This trial hopes to provide valuable insights into how food assistance can help families during challenging times.
