ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how nutritional status affects older patients who are admitted to the hospital. It focuses on understanding how malnutrition—when a person does not get enough nutrients—can impact their recovery, the length of their hospital stay, and their overall health outcomes. The researchers want to gather information from 1,500 patients aged 65 and older to see how their nutrition, health conditions, and other characteristics may relate to their hospital experience, including how long they stay in the hospital and whether they might need to return later.

To participate in this study, patients must be acutely admitted adults aged 65 and older and able to understand the study information in Danish. Unfortunately, those who have been admitted for less than 24 hours, have a terminal illness, or have a temporary civil registration number cannot participate. Participants can expect to provide details about their nutrition and health while contributing to important research that could help improve care for older patients in the future. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to shed light on a significant issue that affects the well-being of hospitalized older adults.
