ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a counseling approach called Motivational Interviewing on overweight and obese patients. Motivational Interviewing is a technique that helps people find their own reasons to make healthy changes, such as improving their eating habits and losing weight. The researchers want to see how this approach can influence body measurements, attitudes towards eating, and overall health markers related to weight and metabolism.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 20 and 40 years old and have a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 25 and 34.9, which means you are considered overweight but not severely obese. You also need to be registered at the Saltuklu Family Health Center and be willing to give your consent to take part. If you are currently taking medications that affect weight, have a chronic illness, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you won't be eligible for this trial. If you join, you can expect to engage in sessions that focus on your personal motivations and strategies for making healthy lifestyle choices. This study aims to help you and others improve health through supportive conversations.
