ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how body weight, measured by Body Mass Index (BMI), affects taste perception, salivary hormones, and oral health in adolescent girls from Iraq. The researchers want to understand if there are differences in taste and oral health among three groups of girls aged 16 to 17: those with normal body weight, those who are overweight, and those who are obese. The study will involve 90 participants in total, and they will provide saliva samples and undergo tests to measure their taste perception and oral health.
To be eligible for the trial, girls must be female, aged 16 to 17, and in good health without any serious medical conditions. Unfortunately, those who have systemic diseases or medical complications cannot participate. If selected, participants can expect to provide saliva samples and take part in simple taste and oral health assessments. This research aims to help understand how body weight might influence taste and oral health, which could lead to better health recommendations for young girls in the future.
