Peppermint Oil Inhalation

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring whether inhaling peppermint oil can help reduce nausea and vomiting in cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy. These symptoms are common and can be very distressing, even leading to dehydration and weight loss. While there are medications available to help with nausea, they can have unpleasant side effects and may be costly. This study aims to see if peppermint oil, a natural remedy, can provide an effective and safer alternative.

To participate, you must be between 20 and 50 years old, undergoing chemotherapy at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore, and able to understand Urdu or Punjabi. You will be placed in one of two groups: one will inhale peppermint oil, while the other will inhale a non-active substance (placebo). The trial will gather information on how well peppermint oil works compared to the placebo. If successful, this could be a simple and low-cost way to help manage nausea and vomiting for many patients.
