ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into the best ways to treat injuries to the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint, which is the joint in your finger located between the first and second bones. The study will compare two treatment methods: the current standard treatment using a Coban wrap, which is a type of bandage, and a new approach using a neoprene sleeve, which is a stretchy material that fits around the joint. The goal is to see which method works better for helping people recover from these types of injuries.
To participate in this trial, you would need to be between the ages of 65 and 74, be able to read, write, and speak English, and understand the questionnaires that will be used to track your recovery. Unfortunately, if you have a specific injury to the finger being treated or any underlying health issues affecting the joint, you would not be eligible. If you decide to join, you can expect to receive one of the two treatments and help researchers learn more about how to improve care for finger joint injuries. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into better treatment options for these injuries.
