Unfortunately, those with certain health issues, like unstable blood pressure or severe anemia, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, will not be eligible. If you qualify, you can expect to help test this innovative device that may improve the care of patients with respiratory conditions. The trial is currently not recruiting participants, so it’s still in the planning stages.

Eligibility criteria

• Inclusion Criteria:
• • Men and women over 18 years of age.
• • Admitted to intermediate respiratory care unit with a diagnosis of acute respiratory failure for at least 8 hours.
• • Informed consent understood and signed.
• Exclusion Criteria:
• • Hemodynamic instability.
• • Severe temperature changes.
• • Hemoglobinopathies, severe anemia, severe acidosis, or severe alkalosis.
• • Anatomical disturbances.
• • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
