ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new device called the EMILY AI, which aims to help patients with breathing problems, both in the short term (acute respiratory failure) and long term (chronic respiratory failure). The device automatically manages oxygen levels and can detect when a patient's condition is getting worse, alerting the medical team and suggesting management strategies. Researchers will evaluate how well the device works in different settings, including hospitals and during physical activities, focusing on how effectively it provides oxygen, how quickly it responds, and how safe and beneficial it is for patients.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult (18 years or older) who has been admitted to a respiratory care unit with acute respiratory failure for at least 8 hours. Unfortunately, those with certain health issues, like unstable blood pressure or severe anemia, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, will not be eligible. If you qualify, you can expect to help test this innovative device that may improve the care of patients with respiratory conditions. The trial is currently not recruiting participants, so it’s still in the planning stages.
