ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well ultrasound can help doctors understand and manage blood loss in women after gynecological surgery. Specifically, it aims to measure a blood vessel called the inferior vena cava (IVC) using advanced ultrasound techniques within 24 hours after surgery. Researchers want to see if these measurements can help predict complications like drops in hemoglobin (a protein in blood), the need for blood transfusions, pain levels, infections, and how long patients stay in the hospital.
To be eligible for this study, women aged 18 years and older who are having major gynecological surgeries like laparotomy (a large incision in the abdomen), laparoscopy (a minimally invasive procedure), or vaginal surgery can participate. Participants will undergo ultrasound exams after their surgeries and will be monitored for their recovery. The goal is to improve patient care by using these ultrasound findings to make better decisions about treatment and potentially reduce unnecessary procedures. It's important to note that the trial is not yet recruiting participants.
