ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating whether listening to music during a procedure called catheter ablation can help reduce anxiety and pain in patients with atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder. Catheter ablation is a treatment that aims to restore a normal heartbeat and is typically done while patients are lightly sedated. The study will compare two groups: one that listens to their choice of music during the procedure and another that does not have music. Researchers hope to see if music can make patients feel more comfortable and improve the overall efficiency of the procedure.
To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 80 years old and undergoing your first catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation. It's important that you do not have certain health conditions that might interfere with the study, such as severe anxiety requiring medication or any difficulty with hearing. If you join the trial, you will have the opportunity to choose music that you enjoy, which will be played at a comfortable volume during your procedure. The study aims to gather information on pain levels, anxiety, breathing stability, and overall satisfaction to see if music can be a helpful alternative to medication for managing discomfort during this procedure.
