ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of ozone therapy on women diagnosed with lipedema, a condition that causes painful swelling in the legs and arms due to enlarged fatty tissue. The researchers want to see if ozone therapy—both applied directly to the skin and given through the body—can help reduce pain and improve the thickness of the affected tissue. This is important because pain is a significant issue for women with lipedema, impacting their daily activities and quality of life.
To participate in this study, women between the ages of 18 and 65 who have been diagnosed with lipedema and report a pain level of 5 or higher on a scale from 0 to 10 may be eligible. However, individuals with certain conditions, such as those causing swelling unrelated to lipedema or those taking specific pain medications recently, cannot join. Participants can expect to receive ozone therapy and will be monitored for changes in pain and tissue thickness throughout the study. This trial is currently active but not recruiting new participants at this time.
