ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective augmented reality (AR) can be in helping children feel less pain and anxiety during dental procedures, specifically when they need to have a primary tooth extracted. Children aged 6 to 10 years will take part in the study, and they will be randomly placed into two groups: one group will use AR goggles that provide a fun, immersive experience to help distract them, while the other group will receive standard care, which involves a method called tell-show-do to prepare them for the procedure.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be between 6 and 10 years old and need to have a primary tooth extraction. They should not have had any previous experience with local anesthesia. However, children who have certain medical conditions, cognitive or communication challenges, or who have had a similar dental treatment in the last three months will not be able to participate. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to find out if AR can make dental visits easier and more comfortable for kids.
