ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a method called periorbital massage to help reduce nausea and vomiting that some patients experience after laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is a type of surgery to remove the gallbladder. After this surgery, about 20% to 30% of patients report feeling nauseous or vomiting, which can be quite uncomfortable. The goal of this study is to see if this gentle massage around the eyes can help ease these symptoms for patients recovering from the surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 70 and have undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anesthesia. It’s important that you do not have any psychiatric disorders or problems with hearing or speech, and you should not have taken any anti-nausea medications within 24 hours before the surgery. If you join the study, you'll receive the massage as part of your recovery process, and researchers will monitor how it affects your nausea and vomiting after the surgery. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the criteria and are interested, you could help contribute to important research in this area.
