ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to help patients recover after surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The researchers want to see if combining a special training method called blood flow restriction (BFR) with hockey slideboard exercises can improve muscle strength and recovery in patients after ACL surgery. Traditional strength training can be risky early in recovery, so BFR allows patients to strengthen their muscles safely with lighter weights while still getting good results.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must have recently undergone ACL reconstruction surgery using specific techniques and may also have had some meniscus repair. The trial is open to individuals aged 65 to 74 and 16 to 43, regardless of gender. Those who join the study can expect to participate in a rehabilitation program that includes both BFR training and slideboard exercises, which aim to help them regain strength and function in their knee while keeping them safe from re-injury. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it could offer a promising way to enhance recovery following ACL surgery.
