This clinical trial, called "Youth-for-Youth Mental Wellness Care and Action," is focused on improving the mental well-being of secondary school students in Hong Kong. The goal is to help students feel better, reduce feelings of depression and thoughts of self-harm, and encourage them to seek help when needed. The program aims to create a supportive school environment and enhance students' understanding of mental health issues. Over three academic years, the initiative will involve 130 local secondary schools, where students will participate in activities designed to boost their emotional and social skills while also addressing mental health stigma.
To be eligible for this trial, students must be enrolled in Form 1 to Form 3 at a secondary school in Hong Kong and be able to understand the questionnaires used in the study. Participants can expect to take part in surveys before and after the program to measure its effectiveness and share their thoughts about the activities.
