ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how music and virtual reality (VR) can help reduce pain, anxiety, and fear in children aged 6 to 12 who are receiving treatment for leukemia and have oral mucositis, a painful condition that can occur as a side effect of chemotherapy. The goal is to see if these fun distractions can make it easier for kids to manage their oral care, which can be very distressing and cause them to avoid necessary treatment.
To be eligible for the trial, children must be between 6 and 12 years old, currently receiving leukemia treatment in a hospital, experiencing oral mucositis, and able to communicate in Turkish. They should not have any serious infections or problems with their vision or hearing. Participants will be divided into three groups: one will listen to music, another will use virtual reality, and the last group will not receive these distractions. Before the treatment, children's anxiety and fear levels will be measured to see how effective the music and VR are in helping them during their care. This study aims to improve the experience of young patients dealing with a tough time in their lives.
