ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to perform awake tracheal intubation, which is a method used to help patients breathe during surgery or emergency situations when it might be difficult to insert a breathing tube. The study will compare how patients feel during the procedure when the tube is inserted through the nose (transnasal) versus through the mouth (transoral). The goal is to understand which method is more comfortable for patients while also considering how well the procedure works from the doctor's perspective.

To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for a surgery that requires tracheal intubation, especially if your doctors expect it to be challenging. Unfortunately, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, as well as those who cannot give consent, will not be eligible. If you decide to join the study, you can expect to share your experiences regarding comfort and any discomfort during the procedure, which will help improve future patient care. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, so more information will be available soon.
