ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two medications, oxytocin and carbetocin, to see how they affect blood pressure and heart rate during cesarean section surgeries. Both drugs are used to help the uterus contract after childbirth, which is important for preventing excessive bleeding. Researchers want to find out which medication is better at keeping patients stable during surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be women aged 18 to 40 who are scheduled for a cesarean section and will receive general anesthesia. They should be having their first or second cesarean delivery, and their pregnancy should be between 35 and 40 weeks along. However, women with certain health conditions, such as high blood pressure or diabetes, or those who prefer different types of anesthesia, will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you will receive one of the two medications during your surgery, and doctors will monitor how your body responds. This trial is currently looking for participants, so if you meet the criteria and are interested, you may want to discuss it with your healthcare provider.
