ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the "REhabilitation of MEMory Symptoms After BRain Concussion," is looking at ways to help people who are experiencing ongoing memory problems after a concussion. Many individuals who have had concussions continue to struggle with memory issues, often due to unhelpful beliefs about their condition and coping strategies. In earlier research, both traditional cognitive rehabilitation and a new type of therapy called cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) showed promise in helping improve memory. This study aims to more clearly compare how effective these two approaches are in enhancing memory function after a concussion.
To participate in this trial, you must be between 18 and 60 years old and have had a concussion diagnosed by a healthcare professional within the last 6 to 36 months. You should still be experiencing memory concerns and be comfortable using a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access. If you have certain psychiatric or neurological disorders, or are on medications that could fully explain your memory issues, you may not be eligible. Those who join the study can expect to engage in either cognitive rehabilitation or CBT to help improve their memory symptoms. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome regardless of gender.
