ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to improve breast cancer screening among Native American women living in a community on the Navajo Nation. The main focus is on a program called TEAM (Tablet-based Education to improve the Acceptance of Mammography), which provides culturally relevant education about mammograms. Women in the study will be randomly placed into two groups: one group will receive the TEAM education program, while the other group will also get additional help from a Diné peer-navigator who will offer personal support each month to guide them through the process.
To be eligible for this study, participants must identify as American Indian or Alaska Native, be female, and between the ages of 40 and 74. They also need to be registered patients at the Chinle Comprehensive HealthCare Facility and have not had a mammogram in the past year. Additionally, they should live within 80 miles of the healthcare facility and be willing to participate in the study. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to make a positive impact on breast cancer screening in the community.
