ClinConnect Summary
The URBACAM-D study is a clinical trial aimed at understanding and addressing the risk factors for cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity in Cameroon. These diseases are becoming more common in the region, especially in urban areas, and many people are unaware that they have these health risks. The trial will use community-based screening programs to help identify individuals who may have these conditions but haven't been diagnosed yet. The goal is to promote early treatment and improve overall health in the community.
Anyone over the age of 18 can participate in this study, regardless of their gender. If you join, you can expect to take part in screenings that will check for signs of CMD risk factors. This is a great opportunity to get important health information and potentially receive support for any issues identified. The study is not recruiting participants just yet, but it aims to make a positive impact on public health in Cameroon by focusing on early detection and intervention for these serious health conditions.
